  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Mix the brown sugar and pecans together and sprinkle half of this mixture over the batter.
  9. Pour the remaining batter over the filling and top with the remaining brown sugar mixture.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding a drizzle of icing on top.
  • This cake can be served warm or at room temperature.
