Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque

A rich and creamy seafood bisque that combines the delicate flavors of crab and shrimp for a luxurious comfort food experience.

  • 2 cups crab meat
  • 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup carrots, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, celery, and carrots, and sauté until softened.
  2. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add seafood stock gradually, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Stir in crab meat and shrimp, cooking until shrimp are pink.
  5. Add heavy cream, brandy, and Old Bay seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes and adjust seasoning.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with parsley.

Notes

  • This bisque can be made ahead of time and reheated.
  • Serve with crusty bread for a complete meal.
