Creamy Smothered Chicken and Rice

A delicious blend of creamy chicken and rice, enhanced by the smoky flavor of turkey bacon.

  • 4 chicken breasts boneless, skinless
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then crumble it into pieces.
  3. In the same skillet, sear the chicken breasts until golden brown.
  4. Add rice, chicken broth, cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with crumbled turkey bacon, and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, add more heavy cream.
  • You can substitute chicken with turkey for a lighter option.
