Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices thick-cut brioche bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  2. Dip each slice of brioche bread into the egg mixture, soaking both sides.
  3. Place the soaked bread on a greased baking sheet.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
  5. Sprinkle a thin layer of sugar on top of each slice and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • Serve with fresh berries and maple syrup for an extra treat.
  • If you don’t have a kitchen torch, broil the sugar-topped toast in the oven for 1-2 minutes to achieve a similar effect.
