Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 2 cups rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon shawarma spice mix
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add chicken thighs and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in shawarma spice mix and rice, cooking for a minute.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover.
  6. Simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is cooked.
  7. Fluff rice with a fork and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate chicken in spices overnight.
  • Serve with fresh herbs and lemon wedges.
