  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oil for frying
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into patties.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook patties until browned, about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove patties and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water; add to the skillet and stir until thickened.
  7. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Notes

  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
  • This dish can also be made ahead of time and reheated.
