- 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 stalks of celery, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 4 slices of bread, toasted
