Slow Cooker Chicken Shawarma

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, spices, garlic, lemon juice, and salt.
  2. Add chicken thighs to the bowl and coat with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  3. Place the marinated chicken in the slow cooker and pour the chicken broth over it.
  4. Cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender.
  5. Shred the chicken with two forks and mix it with the juices from the slow cooker.
  6. Serve in pita bread with your choice of toppings.
