Slow Cooker Chicken Shawarma

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the spices, garlic, olive oil, yogurt, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add chicken thighs to the slow cooker and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the chicken is well coated.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  4. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and mix it with the juices in the slow cooker.
  5. Serve in pita bread with your favorite toppings.
